This isn’t necessarily the most picturesque or charming of Italian cities — in fact, in comparison to Rome or Venice, it’s cold, fast-paced, industrial, all business. Milan is less about leisurely cappucinos and drifting gondoliers and more about smart design and efficient technology — less about centuries-old villa hotels and more about contemporary design boutiques like the Enterprise.

And as one would expect of accommodations fit for movers and shakers in the business world, digital television, wireless internet access, and first-rate soundproofing are available throughout the hotel. There’s a wine bar and a super-luxe restaurant, for doing deals or just spending a night in, and you’re close enough to the heart of the city that all Milan’s nightlife (not to mention the) shopping is at your feet.
