Craster Shaker waste paper bins are beautifully hand-made products. The designs refer to the Shaker tradition that developed from the mid-19th century in New York. The 2mm aero-ply used to make this product is incredibly versatile and durable (in fact so much so that airplanes were once made of this material). The bins are cut by hand then bent on a mold and nailed with tiny copper nails. Craster waste bins can be purchased in a natural finish, a dark walnut stain finish or a cherry finish.

Despite the deteriorating economic backdrop, UK hotels continued to report good growth in the first half of 2008. Hoteliers are, however, in a much less optimistic mood than at the time of the last PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (“PwC”) forecast in March and expect the second half of the year and 2009 to reflect tougher times, according to the latest forecast for the hotel sector from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP report, “Hospitality Directions: UK hotels - early check out for good times”.
Robert Milburn, partner and UK leader of hospitality and leisure, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, commented: “Our analysis shows that while the UK hotel sector has held up pretty well so far, prospects are shifting downwards. London is still on track to grow revenues by over 5 per cent this year but there is a spectre of harsher times ahead as the slowdown arrives earlier than previously expected.”
